The Beach Course – Ranked No. 8 in Australia
“The Beach course is 15 years young but it fits in so well with the surrounding dunes that it would be easy to assume it has been in the ground for decades. This can be attributed to Tony Cashmore’s terrific design, which is complemented by all-round first-class conditioning.”
The Creek Course – Ranked No. 24 in Australia
“Often over-shadowed by its higher-ranked neighbour, the Creek Course is enjoyable and always well presented. Routed further from the surf, and over some flatter terrain, the layout still retains a links-like feel.”

The Beach Course – Ranked No. 24 in Australia
“Small design improvements have been made to the course in recent times, which have been welcomed by the judges. “The subtle changes are noticeable on every visit” says ranking judge David Elvins. “The new tee on the 4th hole is a particularly good example of recent work”. The presentation at Thirteenth Beach remains a consistent high.
The Creek Course – Ranked No. 52 in Australia
“The subtle changes made to the Creek Course in recent times have been well received but several judges believe the layout still has potential to be even better. Some judges have suggested removing the trees on the 13th and 14th holes and tweaking the 15th hole would lead to a higher rating for the Creek Course.”

The Beach Course – Ranked No. 5 in Australia
“This gem of a course sits on fantastic sweeping golf terrain on the Bellarine Peninsula near Geelong and has quite rightly pushed into our top 5. For golfers who haven’t been to Thirteenth Beach lately, a couple of minor tweaks have strengthened the design. Most notable is a new tee and new fairway bunkers at the par-5 4th hole, a change that accentuates the angle of the fairway and places the tee nearer to the large lagoon flanking the left side. The Beach Course (along with the adjoining Creek Course) will at long last come into the professional spotlight when the club concurrently hosts the men’s and women’s Victorian Opens in February.”
“The second of the Thirteenth Beach courses is slowly gaining much-deserved respect as it emerges from the imposing shadow cast by the older and more superior Beach Course. Yet the Creek is an excellent partner to its much vaunted sibling. The land isn’t as striking but the design is compelling with its clean bunker edges and spacious fairways and greens. Recent course alterations, such as the shorter but more demanding par-3 12th hole, have added impact to a layout that may have initially appeared to be quite featureless in comparison.”

The Beach Course – Ranked No. 8 Best Public Access Course
“The Tony Cashmore designed links course continues to impress with its raw and rugged nature. Thirteenth Beach’s Beach course fits like a hand into a glove with its surrounding landscape. Firm and fast greens combine with the spectacular layout to deliver a true links experience that has not wavered since it opened for play in 2001.”
The Creek Course – Ranked No. 31 Best Public Access Course
“Sir Nick Faldo (former world No.1) in collaboration with Tony Cashmore, has brought his playing strengths to the course design business and The Creek Course at Thirteenth Beach goes to prove that. The strategy required here is not just about choosing the right club from every tee, it is also about choosing the right playing line from the tee to set up an easier approach into the greens that are well protected by bunkers as well as closely trimmed mounds and hollows.”
